Identify the all-wheel-drive system
The xDrive badge covers different layouts. Longitudinal-engine transfer cases and other AWD arrangements must be identified from the vehicle and fitted-unit details.
The transmission, transfer case or coupling, and differentials can be separate service items. A gearbox oil change should not be assumed to service them all.
Servicing and investigation
The agreed work can include the appropriate fluid service, inspection for leaks and applicable service functions. The unit determines the fluid and procedure.
Tell us about shuddering, binding, vibration, AWD warnings, tyre changes and recent repairs. Those symptoms need assessment rather than an assumed reset or fluid-only cure.
Resets and calibration
Where required by the work and vehicle procedure, the applicable adaptation or calibration functions can be discussed. The exact process follows the diagnosis and fitted system.
