Choose the procedure for the job

Adaptations are part of how supported transmission control systems respond to operation and wear. Whether to retain or reset them depends on the exact system and the repair procedure.

A fluid change does not automatically mean every adaptation should be erased. We select the relevant service functions for the vehicle and the work.

Resetting is followed by the right checks

Where required, relearning and subsequent checks form part of the agreed work. Procedures depend on the transmission, controller and vehicle conditions.

Resetting learned values does not repair worn components or establish the cause of a shift fault. Describe the original symptoms and any recent work before requesting a reset.

Tell us what changed

  • Gearbox, valve body or converter repairs or replacement.
  • Previous software changes and resets.
  • Fluid service history and current fault codes.
  • How the vehicle behaves before and after the work.
